She was also a shareholder in the town’s Medical Clinic.

Her love of sport earned her national colours in canoeing, 7 Comrade marathons as well as ten Two Ocean races.

She also completed in numerous cycle races like the Namib Quest, Trans Baviaans and many other races and can still be found on the back roads of Groot Brak over weekends or running on the beach early in the morning.

Anne has two children who are both qualified medical doctors and a daughter in law with the same qualifications.

Dr Odelia Tait is a compassionate family doctor who completed her MBChB at the University of the Free State in 2006 and has worked as a medical doctor since then. She has worked in the public health system since 2007 and transitioned to the private sector in 2014, where she has been working as a general practitioner. In addition to her medical degree, she completed a master’s degree in Life Science (M.Sc) at Unisa in 2022, with the published title “The effect of Commelina Benghalensis (COMMELINACEAE) on the MicroRNA expression of cervical cancer cells”.

She has a special interest in genetics, geriatrics, women’s health, healthy living, and mental health.

Dr Melissa is not only a qualified Dentist and Dietitian but a humble and vibrant practitioner with the ability to charm your dental fear away, Quirky would be the best word to describe her fun, spontaneous personality.
She first completed her degree in dietetics at the NWU and thereafter continued her studies in dentistry at WITS University where she qualified in 2014.

Dr Melissa has been in private practice since 2016 and was the proud owner of “The Dental Fairy in Hartbeespoort, North West from 2019.
She is passionate about orthodontic treatments as well as paediatric dentistry.

She has Extensive experience in orthodontic treatment and because she believes in continued professional development she has, over the years, done numerous courses in the field of orthodontics and as well as other areas of general dentistry.

She relocated to Hartenbos in April 2023 with her talented husband, Jannie Moolman, and beautiful baby girl and has since joined Dr. Lilani Venter at MOSS DENTAL in Mossel Bay and Grootbrak River.
With a little bit of dancing in her background, from University cheerleading to up front on stage ballet, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and supporting locals.

Dr Ané Le Roux is compassionate and energetic young dentist with a deep love for God and a strong commitment to serving others through excellent oral healthcare. She is known for a gentle chairside manner, a vibrant personality, and a heart for helping people feel confident and cared for. She is also dedicated to continuous learning, patient education, and creating a positive, faith-inspired impact in every patient served.

Dr Ané studied at University of the Western Cape and has been practicing in the Garden Route since 2023.

Dr Ané is especially interested in Aesthetic dentistry as well as making dentures. She enjoys working with all age groups but has a special interest in children and geriatric patients.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, running, cycling, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

This team was recently expanded when the Biokineticist, Zané Coetzee moved her practice into the Groot Brak Medical Centre in July 2021. Zané has been practicing in Great Brak River since June 2017.

She brings a complimentary set of skills as she is a Biokineticist specialising in orthopaedic rehabilitation as well as sports injuries and running analysis. She has a keen interest in the treatment plan of neurological conditions. She has a passion for Pilates and runs classes for orthopaedic back injuries and teaches acrobatics to young children.

Her love of sport sees her competing in numerous challenging mountain bike races and trail running events. She has also competed internationally in events like the off-road triathlon world championship in Hawaii amongst the many others.

Dr Christine du Plessis is a registered chiropractor with a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic from the Durban University of Technology (2016). She has gained international experience working in Zambia and Ireland before returning to South Africa to establish her own practice in Mossel Bay in 2022. She now also consults at Grootbrak Medical Centre twice a week.

Her primary treatment modality is the chiropractic adjustment, using mainly diversified, drop-table, and activator techniques, but also incorporating other techniques she has learnt abroad. She has a functional approach in her chiropractic treatment to address specific condition as well as maintenance care in patients of all ages. She also takes a multidisciplinary care approach when indicated, to ensure complete care for the patient.

Outside of practice, Dr Du Plessis enjoys horse riding, playing piano in her church band, and spending time with family and friends.

The multidisciplinary team was recently expanded when Greyling relocated to the Garden Route, and he is delighted to join the practice.

Greyling is a clinical psychologist with about 25 years’ experience in full-time psychotherapy practice. He believes that a confidential, warm, and caring therapeutic relationship is the primary vehicle for meaningful change.

He has postgraduate degrees in psychology and theology, as well as a PhD in psychotherapy from the University of Pretoria. Alongside his clinical work, Greyling has lectured part-time at various universities over the years and is currently lecturing at Enterprises University of Pretoria.

Greyling works with adults, young adults, and adolescents, helping them navigate challenges such as anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, and behavioural concerns, including addictive or self-destructive patterns.

He also has a strong interest in sport and performance psychology. Greyling represented South Africa in canoeing for nine years and served as team captain, experiences that continue to shape his work with individuals and teams.

I studied Oral Hygiene at the University of Pretoria and have proudly been practicing in the orthodontic field for the past 30 years. Over the course of my career, I’ve gained extensive experience not only in orthodontics but also in general oral hygiene care, including professional teeth whitening.

I am deeply passionate about what I do and genuinely enjoy working with people of all ages. My goal is to create a welcoming, comfortable environment while promoting long-term oral health and confident smiles.

Simoné Lucas obtained her MBChB degree from the University of Pretoria. She completed her internship in Klerksdorp and her community service year at Evander District Hospital in 2025. She has a strong interest in Family Medicine and enjoys caring for patients across all age groups.

Dr Lucas is committed to providing calm, supportive and transparent care. She believes in educating her patients and working together towards shared health goals, creating an environment where patients feel heard and empowered.

With family based in and around the Garden Route, Dr Lucas has a strong connection to the area and is passionate about contributing to a healthy and safe local community.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys horse riding, cycling and running, values the support of her husband and family, and loves good coffee and problem-solving.

Receptionist

Dr Friedrich von Horsten is a compassionate GP with a love for helping people.  He completed his MB, ChB at Stellenbosch in 2007 and has worked as a doctor even since.  After completing his internship and community service years in East London and Port Elizabeth, he worked in a variety of primary and emergency care roles for multinational companies across the globe.  Friedrich completed a Masters in Infectious Diseases through the University of London in 2021 and also completed additional coursework in Emergency Medicine.

During his spare time he reads, learns languages, gyms, travels and volunteers in humanitarian settings.
